Southern comfort is found in our Family Favorites

My mama taught me well. The older I get, the more I realize that my life mirrors the beautiful life she lived. From the time I had children, I have always strived to gather my family around the dinner table for a home cooked meal several nights a week! My mother made this a priority, so naturally I’m making sure that history repeats itself. My mom would write out a menu on Sundays and would post it on the refrigerator each week so that all family members would know “what’s for dinner!” Juggling life and its demanding schedules is a challenge, but family time at the dinner table shouldn’t be forfeited. The dinner table is where love, laughter, tears, a little bit of fussing and a delicious meal is shared. Over the years I have found some tried-n-true recipes that have become staple meals around here! Now, my children are grown and are out of the house and guess what! They’re all about rollin’ up their sleeves, putting the apron on and getting busy chopping, cooking and baking on their own! They cook healthy, beautiful meals, set the table and enjoy gathering with their friends. The traditions my Grandmother and Mother shared with me, continue strong into the next generation which makes my heart full. In our kitchen, we’re whipping up all kinds of southern goodness and we want to share it, so put your apron on and c’mon on in!
