Because our heifers are so friendly and the pastures are so picturesque, we thought sharing a monthly Happy Hour out here with ya’ll would be really fun! Sharing different wines, beers and cocktail recipes are always appreciated, but even better are the small bites we’re sharing with them! Happy Hour isn’t just about getting a good deal on a drink. It’s about sampling a few delicious finger foods and small bites complemented by a fabulous glass of wine, a mocktail, a cold beer or even pot of the best hot tea ever. Yep it’s true, I think the British are the ones who are to blame for what we now refer to as “Happy Hour!” It all started back in the 1800’s with a Duchess named Anna who would get hungry around four o’clock in the afternoon! Because dinner was served later in the evening, she asked that a tray of small bites and a spot of tea, be brought to her in order to “hold her over” until dinner. Over time, Anna’s tea time has evolved. The tea has now been spiked and the little sandwiches have turned into pork sliders or nachos! But, hey, in honor of Anna, we’re going to share small bites that she too, would be proud to serve and nibble on!
